The Corbières mountain range, and its surrounding region, just north of the Pyrenees, is an area of considerable natural beauty, with its expanse of mountains and hillsides, covered in fragrant scrub, and trees specific to a Mediterranean climate, traversed by rivers with magical watering holes, and mediaeval villages, and, of course, the sea.
 
Taste and sample local Languedoc produce : wines , cheese, olives, honey.  Visit the markets ; artisan shops.  Join in the summer village festivals; or venture into the vineyards for grape picking season in the Autumn.

Gruissan is a small resort with miles of clean uncrowded fine sandy beaches, warm seas and safe bathing for children. There is a wide range of sporting and aquatic activities including windsurfing, sailing, riding, cycling and an amusement park.
